Regular shoppers at The Usuals are familiar with their overall clothing scheme: versatility, trend, and comfort. Great for those of us juggling a few personae. Myself, I’m an art teacher by day, fashion lover and Foodie by night. I need outfits to work at the job, shop through the afternoon, then to wine and dine after the sun goes down. Too much to ask for? Not really.
Actually not hard at all. At The Usuals. I’ve come to rely on finding of-the-moment items to feed my fashion needs, while still assembling a functional look that takes me from day to night.
The Everly dress, “Stripes not Stars,” completely fits this lifestyle. The black and white striped jersey dress is lightweight, comfortable and so versatile. I wore it to a Sonoma all day wine tasting trip — so comfort came to mind, but who wants to let style whither on the vine? This dress worked with quite a few trendy pieces such as wayfarer sunglasses, sparkly black flats, and a pop of color from a bright, pink purse. A boyfriend cardigan protected me from our crazy Bay Area microclimates, which seem to be especially crazy and microy this summer. A belt tied the whole look together.
This dress could be fancied up a bit with some killer heels — any solid color goes — and a sequin clutch. The right staple, such as this ultra cute dress, can be played up, dressed down and in the process, take a girl from day to night.
